Atletico Madrid set sights on Man United and Man City target

Atletico Madrid are working on a move for Manchester United and Manchester City target Javier Pastore, according to reports in Spain.

The La Liga champions are desperate to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season, especially after the sale of top goal scorer Diego Costa to Chelsea.

And now AS are claiming that Atletico boss Diego Simone has made Paris Saint-Germain's Javier Pastore his main transfer target.

The attacking midfielder has struggled in the French capital since moving from Palermo for £31.5 million in 2011.

Atletico would not be able to pay that sort of fee for Pastore, meaning PSG would have to make a loss on the Argentina international.

Another stumbling block is the player's wages, with Pastore currently earning £3m a year, an amount Atletico would struggle to pay.
