Arsenal FC transfer news: Alexandre Lacazette undergoing medical as club close in on £52million deal for Lyon striker

Alexandre Lacazette is at Arsenal's training ground to finalise his move to the club.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas announced on Monday that they had accepted an offer from the Premier League side for their star striker.

Lacazette has now agreed personal terms with the Gunners and is currently undergoing a medical at their London Colney HQ.

The fee for the 26-year-old is understood to be 'at least £45million' - surpassing the £42.4m paid to Real Madrid for Mesut Ozil in 2013.

Lacazette has been in prolific form for the French club over the past three years and fired 37 goals in all competitions last season.

He had looked set to sign for Atletico Madrid this summer before a transfer ban imposed on the Spanish club scuppered a deal.

The France international is now heading to Arsenal after Arsene Wenger made his move, and his signing could be confirmed as soon as Tuesday evening.

The imminent arrival of Lacazette provokes questions over the future of Alexis Sanchez and Olivier Giroud - with Ozil's situation also uncertain.

Sanchez, whose contract expires in June 2018, has been linked with Manchester City, Chelsea and Bayern Munich.

Speaking at the Confederations Cup, the Chile forward said he knew what his future had in store, but declined to reveal what it entailed.

France striker Giroud, meanwhile, has been linked with Everton, among other clubs.
