Moussa Sissoko has been speaking about his Tottenham future ahead of France’s final World Cup qualifiers.

The midfielder has been recalled to the France set-up after a run of improved form for Spurs.

Speaking to footmercato.net, Sissoko revealed he and his agent made the decision to stay with Tottenham in the summer.

“I knew I was going to go back to Tottenham (after the summer break),” he said.

“Afterwards, if a club appeared, we would see and discuss it to make the best decision possible. Finally, we decided to stay in Tottenham.

“I had discussed it with my relatives, with my uncle who is my agent. The best decision for us was to stay in Tottenham. For the moment, we are very happy with this choice and we will do everything to achieve a great season.”

The Frenchman was then asked about a possible January return to Ligue 1.

He said: “I think we will hear about it [rumours of a return]. After that, it will not change anything in my head. I’m calm. I know what I want, where I want to go. The rest will not bother me.”

I don’t think Sissoko is hinting that he has a club in mind that he wants to join – rather, he is saying he will know what decision to make when the times comes.

Right now, the 28-year-old is a useful member of the Spurs squad and it’s unlikely the club will want to lose him in January.

But that doesn’t mean he is definite part of Mauricio Pochettino’s future plans.
