Slaven Bilic has suggested West Ham will be punished if they do not keep Tottenham playmaker Christian Eriksen quiet on Saturday.

The Hammers welcome Spurs to the London Stadium for the first time since the 1-0 home win in May that all but ended the visitors’ 2016/17 title hopes.

Bilic was full of praise for Mauricio Pochettino’s side in his London Evening Standard column, singling out Eriksen as a major threat.

“They have many excellent players but the one who is maybe the unsung hero is Christian Eriksen,” he wrote.

“I don’t want to say he is under-rated because everyone in Europe is aware of the talent that he possesses.

“Apart from being a vital link in their team, he is also making clever little moves into pockets of space or into the box.

“He is clinical in those situations. If you ball watch for a second or two, he is gone. He has wonderful movement with or without the ball.”

Eriksen has scored just once so far this season, but there’s no denying the Dane has been one of the Premier League’s stand out players in 2017.
