EVERTON'S Big Sam was cut down to size by Bournemouth’s wee man Ryan Fraser at the Vitality Stadium.

The flying Scotsman steamed in to volley the Cherries ahead on 33 minutes before firing in a dramatic winner with the help of a huge deflection with just a minute left on the clock.

Idrissa Gueye looked to have snatched a point when he slotted home Oumar Niasse's smart pass to score his first of the season.

But Allardyce's men couldn't hold out when Fraser combined with Adam Smith before his strike lofted over Jordan Pickford.

It took 33 minutes for the home side to go ahead when Everton’s James McCarthy gave the ball away to Callum Wilson who played in Joshua King to cross for 5ft 4in winger Fraser to volley home.

And that was the first league goal the Toffees had conceded in four hours 38 minutes of action.

McCarthy’s match didn’t last much longer as he was replaced at half-time by Wayne Rooney who had recovered from illness.

England’s record goalscorer went close for the visitors on 57 when he pulled a left-footed effort inches wide.

Within second Cherries defender Steve Cook gave the ball away to Gylfi Sigurdsson who found sub Oumar Niasse who set-up Gueye’s equaliser.

Big Sam is itching to splash-out £20 million on Besiktas star forward Cenk Tosun in the transfer window and a new striker cannot come fast enough.

Wilson was presented with the game’s first clear chance on 18 minutes but Everton goalkeeper Pickford blocked his shot.

Pickford also had to be alert ten minutes later when he dived to his left to turn Jordan Ibe’s low 18-yard effort around the post.

And the England stopper was at his best to deny the Cherries yet again when he dived full-length to deny Wilson again.

But Fraser had the final word two minutes from time when his low shot deflected high into the net off Michael Keane.
