Stoke boss Mark Hughes chases Liverpool outcasts Daniel Sturridge or Danny Ings on loan in January transfer window
Potters can't sign both because clubs are only allowed to take two Premier League loans for the season with Kurt Zouma already on the books
MARK HUGHES wants to land Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.
And if Stoke boss Hughes fails to get him, he will look to his Anfield team-mate Danny Ings.
Sturridge, 28, needs games to force his way into the England World Cup squad but Liverpool may be looking for a permanent switch.
Ings, 25, is also eager for action after battling back from two serious knee injuries in a year.
Stoke cannot sign both on loan as they are allowed only two Premier League stars on temporary deals and Chelsea’s Kurt Zouma is already at the club.
Hughes says the Potters are a good option as many of their players like to live in nearby Cheshire.
He added: “We use our geography — that plays a part in recruitment.”
