Jose Mourinho ‘identifies Jorginho as Michael Carrick replacement’ at Manchester United
Napoli holding player has incredible range of passing and was praised by Pep Guardiola after Champions League meeting
JOSE MOURINHO has identified Jorginho as a potential replacement for Michael Carrick, according to reports.
The Napoli midfielder has been one of the Serie A leaders' top performers this season and was praised by Pep Guardiola following the Champions League meeting with Manchester City.
And the Manchester Evening News claim Manchester United are admirers.
Jorginho, 26, recently switched his international allegiance from Brazil to Italy and made his debut in the 0-0 draw against Sweden, which saw the Azzurri miss out on a place at the World Cup.
Despite an extremely disappointing night at the San Siro, the ball-playing defensive midfielder was one of the few highlights.
Jorginho showed and incredible range of passing, with several perfectly-timed through balls to the attackers.

This season, he scored twice in 15 Serie A appearances, providing three assists.
United have missed that player who can open up defences with a killer pass this term.
Carrick is the official club captain, but has only featured in the Carabao Cup clash with Burton Albion, due to injury.
Mourinho has also sent scouts to look at Borussia Dortmund pair Christian Pulisic and Julian Weigl.
