Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho brandishes Burnley as lucky after Red Devils draw 2-2 at Old Trafford
United came back from 2-0 down to snatch a point against the Clarets, as the 54-year-old claimed Sean Dyche's deserved to lose
JOSE MOURINHO has claimed Burnley were lucky to take a point back to Turf Moor after the Red Devils came from 2-0 to draw 2-2.
The 54-year-old has once again praised his side after the result at Old Trafford, despite consecutive draws in the Premier League.
Rivals Manchester City now have the chance to extend their lead at the top of the table to 15 points should they beat Newcastle on Wednesday evening.
Mourinho claimed Bristol City were fortunate to win after they knocked out United in the Carabao Cup quarter-final, while he was also critical after drawing with Leicester on Saturday.
He even downplayed the 2-1 defeat against the Citizens, suggesting his side didn't deserve to lose.
And today was no different, insisting his players were the better men, after having 71% of the possession and having 23 shots on goal.
Speaking to Match of the Day, Mourinho said: "We should have won, yes. I take satisfaction by the way the team played, by the way the team reacted, to try to recover from 2-0 down.
"The boys they fought against the 2-0 at half-time, so nothing at all negative to say about my players. I praise their spirit, their reaction, the way they accept all the risks we took in the second half."

When asked about what went wrong in the opening 45 minutes, he added: "I don't know how they score a goal from a free kick, rebound here, rebound there. Similar goal that we conceded in other matches and then they defend for 95 minutes, second shot they score again.
"For us to score two goals we need to play in their half for 45 minutes, with only one defender. The end product of so much dominance, two goals, is a miserable number.

"Lingard come in and helped the team, Lingard and Mkhitaryan gave us a good dynamic. All the boys accepted the risk to only play with Jones (in defence).
"All the boys accepted the risk that we took, at least the point is not a defeat and is the minimum the boys deserve for such spirit."
And when pressed whether his side are enduring a sticky spell currently, the ex-Chelsea manager responded by saying: "Why? Because we deserve to win matches?
"Because the opponent went to our goal twice and they score twice? The quality of our play, the risk that we took today and also against Leicester, the team that deserved to win both matches is us."
And in a separate interview speaking to Sky Sports, the Portuguese boss said: "My verdict? One team had one-and-half shots and score two goals, the other team had the ball, play, create chances, play with one defender for 45 minutes, create lots of chances, lots of dominancy and score only two.
