Manchester City fan Noel Gallagher thrilled Oasis classic Don’t Look Back In Anger sparked Old Trafford brawl

MANCHESTER CITY fan Noel Gallagher says he's thrilled Oasis classic Don't Look Back In Anger sparked last weekend's heated Old Trafford tunnel brawl.

Pep Guardiola's men ran out 2-1 winners during the game... and celebrated the derby victory by blaring out the anthem in the dressing room.

However, City's exuberance angered Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho who claimed his opposition failed to "show respect".

Meanwhile, Man City coach Mikel Arteta suffered a cut head in the melee, while Mourinho had milk and water thrown at him.

Yet following the dressing room clash, Gallagher revealed he couldn't have been happier to play his part, saying: "It's been amazing.

"This is my favourite City team of all time, that can nause up Mourinho that much, by playing my songs in the dressing room, that he goes in and gets his head kicked in by our keeper!

"That has to be the greatest City team of all time!

"It meant everything. To sit in the studio and watch Neville have a meltdown while the match is going on...

'PARK THE BUS' Man City mock United with dressing room song "Park the Bus" after Tottenham victory

"And then to hear that they were playing Don't Look Back in Anger too loud, honestly! I'm done."

Meanwhile, a video of City players singing "Park the bus, park the bus, Man United" has emerged on social media, posted by a friend of Benjamin Mendy.

TUNNEL TIMELINE

  • Jose Mourinho walks towards the officials' dressing room to confront referee Michael Oliver
  • He was furious having seen a TV replay of Ander Herrera's penalty appeal
  • As he passed the open door of the away dressing room, he gets into a shouting match with goalkeeper Ederson, with the City squad playing loud music
  • The pair argued in Portuguese and then English
  • Mourinho screams at the City squad: "Shut up. You've won nothing yet"
  • Players and staff from both sides involved with punches thrown - although none landed
  • Elbows do find the mark
  • Vincent Kompany lurches towards Mourinho and his staff
  • Romelu Lukaku attempts to climb past United staff to slam dunk City rivals
  • Mourinho almost loses his balance in the melee
  • The Portuguese is then squirted with water by City staff, while cartons of milk are thrown at him
  • Mikel Arteta suffers a cut above his eye - but the two clubs agree this was caused by him banging his head on the door, NOT by Lukaku throwing a bottle
Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has his say on Old Trafford tunnel bust-up… saying he encouraged his players to celebrate

Forfana Diacko, a pal of crocked left-back Mendy, captured players in the Etihad dressing room singing a number of chants.

The video came after City moved 14 points clear at the top of the Premier League following a brilliant 4-1 win over Tottenham.

After yet another big win, boss Guardiola piled praise on star man Kevin De Bruyne, saying: "He helps us to be a better club, a better institution for the future, because that is what we want to do.

"His performance, I have no words to describe what he has done with the ball."
