Wayne Rooney scores first Premier League double in 689 days against David Moyes’ West Ham side and Twitter loves it
Former Manchester United striker popped up with a header on 18 minutes and a right-foot shot on 28 minutes
WAYNE ROONEY’S Everton double against woeful West Ham was his first brace in almost two years.
The ex-Manchester United and Toffees man had not scored twice in a game since January 12, 2016 – a barren spell of 689 days.
The English striker fired two past Newcastle in a 3-3 draw under Dutch ex-United boss Louis van Gaal.
And it is no real surprise it came against the hapless Hammers as no player has scored more Premier League goals against West Ham than Rooney, with Michael Owen tied on 13.
And Twitter loved seeing the Three Lions veteran head home on 18 minutes and fire another ten minutes later with his right boot.
Gwayne Gavin said: " I took Rooney out of my team because he didn’t play the last game and Everton been horrible lately. Today he starts and scored a brace and it’s only been 30 mins. Fml"
Moolah Rascal added: "i love that rooney just drifts around the pitch like he's playing fifa career mode but get this today it's actually good that he's doing that"
Tony Marxial said: "Finished Wayne Rooney has double the amount of league goals that Eden hazard has this season. Rooney is fat and old, plays in the midfield, hazard is a winger in his prime. But braindead non-football watching virgins will tell you Hazard is the best in the league"
