Ex-Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi to sign for Genoa after latest injury hell
FORMER Manchester United striker Giuseppe Rossi is set to sign for Genoa following his latest injury hell.
The Italian forward, 30, took to Twitter to reveal he is finally edging back to full fitness having been a free agent since July 2017.
Rossi was released by Fiorentina at the end of his contract, having been badly injured while spending the season on loan at La Liga side Celta Vigo.
But now it would appear the former Newcastle and Villarreal man is set for another crack at the big-time.
Rossi tweeted an image of himself at the airport, captioned: "Next stop... Serie A! #comeback #calcio #Italy #passion #hardwork #NEVERGIVEUP"
The 30-cap Italy international landed in Milan on Wednesday - before revealing the news.
Rossi said: "I’m fine, I’m happy. I wish to say ‘hello’ to the Genoa fans.
"Fiorentina-Genoa on December 17? It’ll be a great match."

Seven months ago, Rossi's career looked to be in tatters after suffering his THIRD ACL injury - his fifth serious injury in all.
Now, Genoa appear to have handed him a lifeline as they've offered him a one-year deal as they look to avoid an impending relegation battle.
