Crystal Palace fans blocked from entering Brighton match despite claiming to have tickets for derby
The rivalry and venom was turned up to 11 when Eagles ace Wilf Zaha had a dig at the Seagulls and fans abused him online
CRYSTAL PALACE fans in their hundreds were blocked from entering Brighton’s Amex stadium on Tuesday night, despite holding match tickets, according to reports.
A few of the Eagles fans that did manage for sneak past the Hove stewards caused a scene by sparking a giant red flare but a large chunk of the travelling support was reportedly stuck outside in the cold.
Around 100 fans were allegedly stuck outside and missing the action well into half-time.
There were various unconfirmed reports on Twitter claiming the turnstiles were closed after a number of ticketless fans bundled through the turnstiles and into the stadium.
Fans travelling to Hove had to carry ID as well as their match ticket and even some of them were refused entry into the new ground.
The unlucky fans stuck outside did not miss much first-half action with the score goalless.
