SWANSEA picked up a first point in five games but remain in the bottom three.
Under pressure boss Paul Clement made five changes from the side beaten at Burnley last weekend.
But there was precious little evidence that his alterations would do the trick.
Bournemouth dominated the early stages without creating too many gilt-edged chances.
At the other end Swansea were, to say the least, goal-shy.
Just as they had against Brighton here two weeks ago, they refused to shoot.
The crowd once again became restless and urged Clement’s side to have a pop.
When they did, Renato Sanches hit the side netting with a 37th minute shot from 20 yards.
The Swans were dealt a cruel blow in first half stoppage time.
Wilfried Bony struck from close range but not until ref Stuart Attwell had blown up for a foul by Jordan Ayew.

Clement must have read the riot act to his players at the break.
His side came out with all guns blazing in the second half.
But once again they couldn't find a way past Asmir Begovic.
Leroy Fer had the best chance 10 minutes from time.
But after being denied by Begovic he then struck the post from eight yards.

Swansea City manager Paul Clement on his team: "They showed the passion and enthusiasm today and I think the supporters were happy with what they saw.
"Leroy Fer has a really good chance at the end, but it's a pleasing performance. We were really good in spells and it is something to build on.
"The way we played after the break was settled and in control. We didn't get that break to get all three points, but the fans were patient when we made errors and that was a big, big help."
AFC Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe: "It was a scrappy game and not high quality, but both team gave everything.
"We're becoming harder to beat, so I'm happy [with that]. They made it difficult for us."
