Michael Emenalo’s Chelsea exit opens door to Monaco move as French giants look to hire Blues’ former technical director
Nigerian believed to have clashed with Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte, and was not overly loved by Blues fans
MONACO reportedly want to hire former Chelsea technical director Michael Emenalo.
The Times claims he could be set for a similar role with the current French champions just days after leaving Stamford Bridge.
Emenalo was an important figure behind the scenes at Chelsea but was not particularly loved by fans after a number of dodgy transfers.
The Nigerian is believed to have clashed numerous times with Jose Mourinho during the Special One’s second spell in west London.
And Emenalo’s departure hints that he has ended up on the losing side of a battle with Premier League winner Antonio Conte after the Blues missed out on a number of top targets in the last window.
However, Emenalo could now be set for a fresh start at Monaco, who are in a state of flux after selling a number of top stars last summer.

Meanwhile, Emenalo has heaped praise upon Chelsea youngster Andreas Christensen after the defender put in a stellar performance in the win over Manchester United last weekend.
Emenalo said: “Andreas, unbeknown to him, gave me a wonderful parting gift yesterday because his performance is indicative of what development is all about.

“Development equals humility, hard work and timing, and Andreas has done all three.
“He’s shown great humility to go on loan and work very hard while he was there and gain the experience which is needed, and the timing is right for him now to step in and show what he’s learnt during those periods of development.”
