Everton transfer news: Toffees eye up January swoop for Sheffield United centre-back Sam Graham

EVERTON are eyeing up a January move for Sheffield United youngster Sam Graham, according to reports.

The Blades centre-back has impressed in the academy, and the Toffees are now keen to snap the prospect up and bring him to Goodison Park.

According to the Liverpool Echo, Everton scouts have been keeping tabs on the teenager, and are vying to bring him to their Under-23 squad.

Graham signed a contract with the Championship table-toppers back in March - tying him down at Bramall Lane until 2020.

Sheffield United have lauded Graham on their website, describing him as a "tough, athletic and strong centre-half."

The Merseyside club - who have already recruited Lewis Gibson and Nathangelo Markelo to their youth academy - are determined to bolster their defence in their development squads.

Ronald Koeman missed out on signing Manchester City defender Tosin Adarabioyo last January, as the 20-year-old decided to extend his stay at the Etihad.

Everton are no stranger at targeting United prospects, having lured striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin away from Sheffield last summer.

While they also missed out on signing midfielder David Brooks, who has starred in the Championship this season in his ten appearances.

The Toffees boast the second worst goal difference in the top-flight - conceding a whopping 18 goals.
