Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera tipped with stunning January move to Barcelona

MANCHESTER UNITED midfielder Ander Herrera has been tipped to make a sensational move to Barcelona in the January transfer window.

The Spanish midfielder, 28, has started just two games in the Premier League under Jose Mourinho this season as he struggles to nail down a spot in the starting XI.

However, Herrera's style of play would certainly suit Barca's style, as they look for a long-term replacement for Andres Iniesta.

The Catalan giants are currently four points clear of surprise-package Valencia at the top of the La Liga table this season - and five above rivals Real Madrid.

But with 30 games still to go, boss Ernesto Valverde is considering adding more depth this winter, according to reports in Spain.

Barcelona are expected to make a bid for Herrera, with Mourinho potentially willing to cash-in on the Spaniard.

Herrera joined United in from Athletic Bilbao back in 2014 - going on to make 132 appearances in all competitions, scoring 15 times.

Elsewhere, Barca are set to go back in for Philippe Coutinho in the January window.

In the summer, Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool rejected three bids up to around £138m - as the club held out for £180m for their "Little Magician".

According to reports in Spain, Coutinho is confident Liverpool WILL allow him to leave Anfield this winter.

Barcelona are now increasingly confident of landing the star forward, with club CEO Oscar Grau all but confirming the deal.

Grau claimed: "We are ready to buy Coutinho in the winter market, or any player the technical staff request.

"But it is important to adjust ourselves, so if there are to be arrivals, there must be exits as well."
