MANCHESTER UNITED ace Andreas Pereira has issued a grovelling apology after being caught speeding in Spain.

The Belgium-born midfielder, 21 - currently on-loan at Valencia - landed himself in hot water with Spanish authorities on Monday evening.

On the incident, Pereira apologised, saying: "Very sorry the speeding yesterday evening.

"I will accept whatever punishment comes.

"It is important to be careful when driving and always respect the rules. Lesson learned."

On the pitch, the Brazil Under-23s midfielder has been impressing at La Liga giants Valencia.

The Man United youth product has made six appearances for Marcelino Garcia Toral's side - scoring once.

Pereira netted his first goal for the Spaniards with a sublime, long-range effort in the 6-3 drubbing of Real Betis on Sunday.

The attacking midfielder joined United from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven as a teenager in 2011.

Since then, Pereira has gone on to spend a season on loan at Granada in 2016-17 - making 35 La Liga appearances, scoring five times - and another with Valencia.

He has earned five Premier League appearances at United since his 2014-15 debut - with four of those coming in the 2015-16 season.
