Pep Guardiola insists Man City stars hear Oasis songs as they prepare for games at Etihad
PEP GUARDIOLA has got his Manchester City side playing Champagne Supernova football — by making them listen to Oasis before each game.
An Etihad source said: “In the last few weeks Pep has decided an Oasis song should be on when players reach the dressing room.
“He’s used a few different ones. Has it been a factor in the recent form? Definitely... maybe.”
Before City’s recent win over champions Chelsea the players listened to Don’t Look Back In Anger.
And Guardiola is hoping the tunes ensure their sensational start to the season does not Slide Away.
Former Oasis stars Noel and Liam Gallagher both remain huge City fans and are regulars at their matches.
The club asked Noel to carry out the first interview for their in-house TV after Guardiola was appointed Etihad boss in July 2016.
Meanwhile, Raheem Sterling has revealed he never thought for one minute about joining Arsenal this summer.
The Gunners made an inquiry about the England star during talks over City’s move for Alexis Sanchez.
Pep Guardiola threw out the idea — and a £60million cash deal for the Chilean hotshot was agreed instead.
MANCHESTER CITY TRANSFER STORIES
It fell through at the last minute but the City boss maintained there was ‘zero chance’ of him letting Sterling go.
That faith has been justified with the £49m former Liverpool man scoring seven goals already this term.
Sterling, 22, insists he wants to stay at the Etihad for the long term and benefit from the ‘genius’ of Guardiola.
Asked how he felt when he heard the Arsenal rumours, he said: “I didn’t need to speak to the manager.
“I’d already spoken to him in the summer. I didn’t have any negative thoughts. I just woke up one day with England and saw it.
