ARSENAL vs Liverpool is set to be the controversial Christmas Eve 2017 game with a 12.30pm kick-off, according to reports.
Premier League executive chairman Richard Scudamore ruled out the possibility of a 4pm kick off after uproar from fuming fans.
The Gunners also feared they would not be granted a safety certificate for a 4pm kick-off due to a shortage of essential staff unwilling to work at that time.
But a lunchtime start is going ahead to fulfil the need for a box-office Super Sunday clash on December 24.
Football fans face the logistical nightmare of having to travel around the country just hours before Christmas.

And the unlucky supporters, who insist on following their side, will have no choice as Premier League clubs have signed the £11m-per-match contract broadcasting deal.
The Football Supporters' Federation – which represents the 20 top-flight clubs - met with Scudamore on Tuesday morning and released a statement on the hot topic.
