Manchester United transfer news: Fabinho courted by Man City as Pep Guardiola looks to hijack Red Devils move for Monaco star
MANCHESTER CITY are interested in beating Manchester United to the signature of Monaco star Fabinho, according to reports.
The Red Devils have made several attempts to lure the Brazilian to Old Trafford without success since Jose Mourinho took charge at Old Trafford.

But Monaco have always resisted their advances and Fabinho is now one of the most integral players in their side.
Yet since he was switched from right-back to a more central role, his displays have also caught the eye of City boss Pep Guardiola.
And according to ESPN he is now a player Guardiola is watching closely as he already looks at how he can develop his squad in the future.
One area the City boss is paying close attention to is in the centre of his midfield, with Yaya Toure now approaching the end of his career.
Brazilian Fernandinho is the first choice player in that role, with Fabian providing competition.
But Guardiola is believed to be open to the idea of adding another top level player to his options in that position next summer.
And Fabinho's performances in the year since he was switched to become a holding midfield player have marked him out as one of the leading talents in that role.
At 23, he also has plenty of years ahead of him in the game and for around £67million City would get a player who is still approaching his peak.

Since his move into midfield, that interest from United has cooled, with Mourinho looking for a player more adept at right-back.
So it could be that City will not have the competition from their local rivals for Fabinho's signature as they would have done six months ago.
The summer transfer window was one the craziest we have ever seen.
