BARCELONA are lining up a stunning move for Dele Alli as an alternative to Philippe Coutinho, according to reports.

Liverpool played hardball over their Brazilian playmaker in the summer and the Catalan club fear missing out on him again.

According to Sport, Alli is being monitored by Barca's top brass as they believe he would slot into the team.

Tottenham have told both Barcelona and Real Madrid that the England midfielder, 21, is not for sale - even for £150million.

Alli has scored three goals in eight appearances for Spurs this season and is instrumental to boss Mauricio Pochettino's plans.

He signed a new six-year deal with the North London club last September and takes home around £50,000 a week.

Alli said: "Delighted to sign a new deal with this amazing club, thank you to all the fans for your support so far #COYS"

And Spurs are reportedly confident he will sign a new £80,000-a-week deal.

But Alli raised concerns over his future by revealing plans to leave long-term agent Rob Segal when their agreement expires.

Tottenham are reportedly concerned that if he signs with a super agent like Mino Raiola or Jorge Mendes, they could struggle to agree a new contract.

Barcelona are under pressure to sign a top player having lost Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain in the summer.

They splashed out £135.5million on Ousmane Dembele from Borussia Dortmund but failed to land top targets Coutinho and Marco Verratti.

Rival reports claim Antoine Griezmann is Barca's No1 target next summer.
