Burnley ace Nick Pope is officially the best goalkeeper in Europe with a staggering 94 per cent save rate in the 2017-18 season
NICK POPE has enjoyed a meteoric rise to the top of the game this season, having gone into the season expecting to be warming the Burnley bench.
The English stopper, 25, was seen as Sean Dyche's back-up to England ace Tom Heaton.
However, Pope was rushed into action after Heaton dislocated his shoulder against Crystal Palace.
The ex-Charlton stopper came off the bench and has thrived for Burnley ever since, with Heaton out for at least four months.
In fact, Pope is statistically the best goalkeeper in all of Europe's Big Five leagues.
The English stopper, has saved a whopping 94.4 per cent of all shots he faced this season, of which there have been 18, saving 17 and conceding one, against Liverpool.
That record is far and away the best in the Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Serie A and Ligue 1.
Nantes No1 Ciprian Tatarusanu comes in second with a save percentage of 91.3, with Borussia Dortmund star Roman Burki in third on 90 per cent.
Manchester United No1 David De Gea comes in fourth with a save rate of 88.2 per cent, with German duo Philipp Tschauner (Hannover, 86.2) and Marc-Andre ter Stegen (Barcelona, 85.7) completing the top six.
Roma's Allison comes in seventh on 85.2 per cent, while Manchester City stopper Ederson is eighth with 84.6 per cent.
