Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren reveals he cannot train and requires FIVE painkillers before each match
The 28-year old has had back issues but now also has a problem with his Achilles which could now force him to miss out on international duties with Croatia.
LIVERPOOL defender Dejan Lovren has revealed that he is unable to train and takes five painkillers before each game.
The Croatian has featured in eight matches for Liverpool this season despite suffering with back and Achilles injuries.
The 28-year-old was a cause for concern last season as his fitness issues became a problem for the defender.
Lovren has struggled with eight different injuries last season alone.
Speaking to Sportske novosti, Lovren said: "I have problems for the last two weeks with my whole body, it hurts."
"I have problems with my back...and now I have hurt my Achilles tendon."
"I play, but I'm not training at all. I can't train. The biggest problem is my back. That's why I skipped the matches against Manchester City and Burnley in the Premier League."
"I have big problems with the left side of my body. I'm taking pills so I can play. I take five pills before every game."

Yet despite all odds the defender has been named in the Croatia squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
In which he admitted that he had made Ante Cacic aware of his issues before he named his final squad.
"I told him [Croatia coach Cacic] my state."
"All this time I'm playing under tablets. It's not normal to have four of five tablets before each game. I wanted to play, the coach put me in the team, but it is not good."
"I'm worse and worse. For a long time, it makes no sense."
Liverpool signed Dejan Lovren for £20m from Southampton back in the summer transfer window of 2014 on a four-year-contract.
