David Luiz is lazy and letting Chelsea team-mates down after Atletico Madrid blunders, insists Roy Keane
ROY KEANE has launched a scathing attack on David Luiz and says he is letting his Chelsea team-mates down.
The Brazilian international was labelled "lazy" by the Republic of Ireland assistant boss following his display in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Keane, renowned for his take no prisoners assessments, delivered his ruthless verdict after Luiz gave away a penalty in the dying seconds of the first half against Atletico Madrid.
The Blues defender was punished for a pull on an opposition forward - and Antoine Griezmann stepped-up to fire the La Liga side into the lead.
And Manchester United legend Keane did not hold back while reviewing the incident for ITV.
He said: "It's madness really. It's a form of cheating.
"Why he's doing it is beyond me. He's lazy and he's letting his team-mates down. He knows himself.
"There's no need. We see a lot of that going on, so I'm glad he got punished for it. It's a form of cheating."

Fortunately for Chelsea it did not prove costly as they managed to battle back to become the first English side ever to win at Atletico.
However, despite their stunning comeback, Keane was not the only former United great to stick the boot into Luiz.
Former Red Devils and England centre-half Rio Ferdinand told BT Sport: "David Luiz has left himself and his team-mates down here.
"You see he's the wrong side, he knows he's the wrong side and he gets a handful of the shirt and the referee is in a great position. He doesn't even protest."
Luiz re-signed for Chelsea last summer for £35m just two years after leaving the club for Paris Saint-Germain.
He was instrumental in their success last season as he produced a number of impressive defensive displays to help them win the title.
But the star's form has dropped this campaign and this incident is the second time in a matter of weeks he has let his club down following his red card against Arsenal.
