Chelsea star Alvaro Morata’s six goals in six games is the second-best start for any Blues forward in the Premier League era
CHELSEA finally put the long-running Diego Costa saga behind them last week when they announced he would officially be rejoining Atletico Madrid.
The Brazilian-born forward had been frozen out and told he had no future at the club by Antonio Conte, despite being the club's chief goal threat for the past three seasons.
However, Chelsea brought in Real Madrid man Alvaro Morata in a £65million deal in the summer, hoping he could lead the Blues' line for years to come.
While he had gigantic boots to fill, the Spaniard has started off in incredible from, scoring six times in his first six Premier League games.
Morata sits top of the Prem scoring charts, level with Romelu Lukaku - who was another tipped to join Chelsea in the summer, before opting for Manchester United - and Sergio Aguero.
In fact, Morata's start has been so strong it is the second-best of any Chelsea forward in the Premier League's history, behind only - you guessed it - Costa himself.
Back in 2014, Costa set the league alight with EIGHT goals in his first half-dozen fixtures - including a hat-trick against Swansea and two in a 6-3 thriller against Everton.
However, despite sitting behind the Spanish international, Morata does sit above a long list of Chelsea legends.
