Argentinian defender Enzo Perez produces hilarious John Terry-esque headed tackle during River Plate’s victory over Banfield
Ex-Chelsea skipper attempted famous "salmon" challenge for England during 2010 World Cup
AN ARGENTINIAN defender produced a hilarious John Terry-esque floor-bound header while in action for River Plate against Banfield.
Enzo Perez had opponent Pablo Mouche running at him, and had slipped on the wet surface.
At the same moment, the Banfield man had been guilty of a slightly heavy touch and it became almost a 50:50 challenge.
However, the momentum from Perez's fall had taken him away from the ball — and the only way he could try to stop the attack was with his head.
Mouche was equally determined to win the ball and put in a strong challenge to ensure he came out victorious.
And, despite Perez's best efforts, he lost out.
It's an incident which evoked memories of Terry's "salmon" header for England against Slovenia at the 2010 World Cup.
The former Chelsea captain but his body — and head — on the line to ensure the Three Lions made it out of the group in South Africa.
