Tottenham news: Serge Aurier trains with new team-mates for first time as Mauricio Pochettino prepares for Everton clash
SERGE AURIER has got to work for new boss Mauricio Pochettino as Spurs prepare to face Everton.
The Ivory Coast international arrived for £23million to compete with Kieran Trippier at right-back.
But Poch is unlikely to risk Aurier from the start at Goodison with just one day's full training under his belt with new team-mates at their Enfield base.
The Spurs boss has already wiped the slate clean with Aurier, 24, after the player previously landed himself in hot water.
He made homophobic comments about former Paris Saint-Germain boss Laurent Blanc and then got himself in trouble with the law for elbowing a policeman outside a Paris club.
Poch said: "I spoke with him, of course, about different things but I'm a person that likes to move on.
"I think it was good, we had a long chat.
"He knows very well how we are, what we expect from him and for us it's so important, not only him, every player, how they behave here in the squad.
"We need to keep the dynamic we have created. I trust him, I am confident that he can succeed here and help the team to achieve the things we want.
"When you know and you meet some people, always you start to assess him from the day that you meet them and for me we start from (here) because I don't know him before. For him I think it's a new chapter in his life."
But Poch has joked that if Aurier ever slams him in the same way he did Blanc he will HEADBUTT him.

Poch added: "I have had a long chat with him. I explained what we are, how I am and the commitment I expect from him.
"And what he said about Blanc? I said to him, 'I will headbutt you'."
Ivory Coast ace Aurier, 24, only returned from his World Cup qualifying double-header on Wednesday and took part in some light training.
Tottenham will also be without Danny Rose and Victor Wanyama for Saturday's trip to Everton.
Both are struggling with knee injuries, but Trippier has recovered from an ankle problem.
