Everton starlet Dominic Calvert-Lewin secures a point for Young Lions in Holland
Aidy Boothroyd's England Under-21s begin Euro qualifying campaign with a share of the spoils against the Netherlands
ENGLAND UNDER-21S began their Euro qualifying campaign with a share of the spoils in Holland.
Everton's Dominic Calvert-Lewin appeared to have taken the points for the Young Lions, but Bart Ramselar earned a draw for the hosts ten minutes later.
Aidy Boothroyd's side will leave the Netherlands the happier as they got off the mark in their opening match of qualification.
Both sides had chances in the opening exchanges but it was Liverpool new boy Dominic Solanke that fired wide with the first clear cut opportunity.
Kieran Dowell then flashed two chances wide for England from distance before another Toffees ace handed the visitors the lead on 20 minutes.
Ademola Lookman had looked lively from the start and it was the Goodison Park who was the architect for the opener.
He produced a neat bit of skill for Calvert-Lewin, who scored the winner to secure the U20s World Cup for England in the summer, to make the breakthrough.
He lifted a pass into the path of his club-mate, who made no mistake as he calmly slotted home past goalkeeper Joel Drommel.

But the joy would not last long.
Art Langeler's found themselves level shortly after as Ramselar fired home a header past Angus Gunn.
Chasing victory, Boothroyd made a double switch with 20 minutes remaining.
Solanke and Dowell were replaced by Kasey Palmer and Demarai Gray as they searched for a winner.
But in the end the Young Lions had to be thankful for Jonjoe Kenny as he cleared off the line from Guus Til's effort.
Tammy Abraham was thrown on in attack, but the Swansea loanee was unable to find a winner as the game ended one apiece.
