Arsenal ‘want Sergio Aguero’ as part of any deal taking Alexis Sanchez to Manchester City
Reports claim Arsene Wenger wants Argentine hitman involved in any potential transfer but Pep Guardiola rejects player exchange counter-offer
MANCHESTER CITY have reportedly told Arsenal that they are not willing to make Sergio Aguero part of any deal for Alexis Sanchez.
The Citizens have ramped up their efforts this morning to land the wantaway Chilean hitman from the Gunners.
It is claimed that Pep Guardiola has offered Emirates chief Arsene Wenger a bumper cash sum and Raheem Sterling for the 28-year-old.
However, Sky Sports are claiming that Arsenal want Argentine striker Aguero involved in any potential transfer.
But the Independent claim Guardiola is not willing to depart with his 29-year-old forward, instead preferring to keep him alongside Sanchez and Brazilian Gabriel Jesus.
Sanchez is out of contract next summer and has no intention of extending his stay in North London.
He played his first game of the season on Sunday but was hauled off after 62 minutes as he and his team-mates suffered a humiliating 4-0 drubbing at Liverpool.
Sanchez has since linked up with his country for international duty, but reports are claiming that he has asked to leave the Chile camp in order to sort out his other commitments.

Guardiola has been teasing a move for the unsettled South American, last week when asked about his interest he said: ““Alexis? He’s an Arsenal player.
“You have to ask Alexis. Normally I don’t talk about players from other clubs.
“I’m happy with the squad I have. We have five or six days left, and we’ll see with the market.
“Maybe some of the players here will leave and we will see.
“Now the market is difficult and it was difficult before. You have to spend more, not just City but other clubs.
“They’re looking for the best solutions. They wait until the last minute to make the deal cheaper.”
City are ready with a £21million-a-year contract would make Sanchez, 28, the Premier League’s highest-paid player on a weekly basic wage of £325,000 plus £75,000 image rights.
