BURNLEY are tipped to beat West Brom and Brighton for Lorient striker Majeed Waris.
Watford and Birmingham have also admired the pacy Ghana international.
And Waris' reputation soared last season when he shone in Ligue 1 despite Lorient's eventual relegation.
Now France Football say Burnley are hovering ever closer to a deal for the 25-year-old.
Clarets chief Sean Dyche has already signed Leeds top scorer Chris Wood.
But Waris offers something different to Dyche's frontline options of Wood, Sam Vokes and veteran Jonathan Walters.
Waris finished with nine goals and five assists from 31 starts for his French club last term.
And Dyche believes that sort of record for a struggling club would make him an exciting prospect for the Premier League.
