Trent Alexander-Arnold and Tom Davies head up big Merseyside presence in England Under-21 squad
Liverpool defender and Everton midfielder set for first caps in European qualifiers against the Netherlands and Latvia
LIVERPOOL'S Trent Alexander-Arnold and Tom Davies of Everton have been included in Aidy Boothroyd’s England squad for next month’s Under-21 Euro qualifiers.
The Merseyside duo are in line for their first caps as England take on the Netherlands in Doetinchem on Friday, September 1.
They then host Latvia at Bournemouth’s Vitality Stadium four days later.
Alexander-Arnold shot to fame by marking his first Champions League game with a terrific goal against Hoffenheim.
The 18-year-old curled in a beauty to move his boyhood club one step closer towards a crack at conquering Europe.
Midfielder Davies, 19, broke into the Everton squad last season and has maintained his good Premier League progress.
He has appeared at England Under-16 to Under-19 levels, and captained the Under 19s.
Trent-Alexander, too, has appeared for the same four England youth teams.
