Leeds make £6m bid for Middlesbrough striker Rudy Gestede after selling Chris Wood to Burnley for £15m
The Yorkshire side aren't hanging around in their bid to replace the New Zealand international by gunning for Gestede
LEEDS have made a £6million bid for Middlesbrough striker Rudy Gestede.
The Yorkshire side aren't waiting around to spend the £15m they have received for striker Chris Wood from Burnley.
And they have shortlisted the Benin international as the man to replace the departed New Zealand international, according to the Guardian.
Gestede is a similar kind of player as Wood in that he will bring power and the ability to hold the ball up in the forward line.
And having failed to really light up the Riverside since he moved for £6m in January from Aston Villa, Boro might be keen to recoup the whole fee they shelled out.
Leeds' case could be helped by the fact that Victor Horta, the scout who helped bring Gestede to Middlesbrough last season, is now in a similar position at Elland Road.
Leeds will be desperate to replace their talisman Wood, who decided to seek a fresh challenge with Burnley in the Premier League.
Sean Dyche has splashed out a club-record fee of £15million for the New Zealand international.
