Paris Saint-Germain’s former Manchester United star Angel Di Maria tries his hand at Major League Baseball
Argentine winger throws ceremonial first pitch and meets Edinson Volquez before Miami Marlins take on Philadelphia Phillies
PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN may be preparing for the International Champions Cup but that did not stop one of their stars trying his hand at another sport.
The French giants are currently in the United States ahead of the pre-season tournament.
And their former Manchester United winger Angel Di Maria took the opportunity to take in a bit of Major League Baseball action.
The 29-year-old was invited to be guest of honour as the Miami Marlins entertained Philadelphia Phillies.
But it was not all fun and games for the ex-Real Madrid ace as he was charged with throwing the ceremonial pitch before the game.
He was joined by the Marlins’ star pitcher Edinson Volquez in the diamond.
The duo later swapped jerseys as they posed for the cameras.
Di Maria did not embarrass himself with his pitch, although PSG are unlikely to be worried he will be swapping sports any time soon.

Fans at Marlins Park were also entertained to a bit of footwork by Di Maria as he produced an impressive keepy-uppy display before his throw from the diamond.
PSG are in the States to take part in the ever-growing summer friendly tournament.
They will travel to Detroit, Michigan for their opening International Champions Cup clash against Roma on 19 July.
They will then head to Florida to tackle Premier League Tottenham Hotspur in Orlando three days later.
And then they are back to Miami to face Serie A giants Juventus.
