Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho ready to make final £60m offer to lure Eric Dier from Tottenham
JOSE MOURINHO is planning a final £60million bid for Tottenham's Eric Dier, according to reports.
The Manchester United boss is desperate for executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to sign the England international.
But the Mirror are claiming the Old Trafford club are now fearing a deal may not be done as Spurs continue to hold firm on their position to keep their midfielder.
United need to strengthen their squad after finishing sixth last season but have the added pressure of Champions League football after winning the Europa League.
And Dier is one of Mourinho's top targets with the former Sporting Lisbon man's head reported to have been turned by a move.
But he signed a new five-year deal worth around £70,000-a-week last September so Spurs will not struggle to stop any move taking place.
And the North London club strengthened their hand even more by selling Kyle Walker to Manchester City for £50m.
Nemanja Matic is another option for Mourinho but a deal being struck with Chelsea seems unlikely.

United have been linked with a number of other targets in recent weeks, including Barcelona midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
Fellow Barca player Andre Gomes is another.
But winger Ivan Perisic is on his way to the Theatre of Dreams after a £40m fee was agreed with Inter Milan.
