Cristiano Ronaldo is the only Jorge Mendes client left at Real Madrid – after Angel Di Maria, James Rodriguez, Jose Mourinho, Pepe, Ricardo Carvalho and Fabio Coentrao all left
Could Florentino Perez's attempt to change Los Blancos' image on transfer market include fewer dealings with super-agent?
AND then there was one.
In 2011-12, Real Madrid had six clients of super-agent Jorge Mendes — before adding another in 2014.
Cristiano Ronaldo, Pepe, Angel Di Maria, Ricardo Carvalho and Fabio Coentrao all wore the white shirt seven seasons ago.
While Jose Mourinho sat in the dug-out and James Rodriguez arrived a couple of years later.
Mendes also brought youngsters Alipio, Pedro Mendes and Fabinho to the youth system in that time.
It was known as Universo Mendes.
But, one-by-one, they’ve all left. Except one.
This summer, the Portuguese super-agent has overseen the exit of three of his clients from the Bernabeu, with Pepe, Coentrao and Rodriguez moving onto Besiktas, Sporting Lisbon and Bayern Munich respectively.
While he desperately tried to negotiate the sale of the last remaining member of the Mendes clan — Cristiano Ronaldo — to Manchester United.
