Gunners boss Arsene Wenger believes Lyon are finally ready to cash in on hitman Lacazette to fund their own summer spree - having bagged 100 goals in 203 Ligue 1 games.

And Lyon appear to have moved on, the French outfit agreeing a £16.5m deal with Chelsea for striker Bertrand Traore, 21.

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas confirmed: “We’re fine-tuning the talks with the player and I hope to be able to conclude the deal in the next few days.”

And with Lyon also after Manchester City defender Eliaquim Mangala for £20m, Aulas is banking on Lacazette’s departure to finance the deals.

The 26-year-old has still to be convinced about a move to the Emirates after initially declaring he would only sign for a club playing in the Champions League.

But he has softened his stance since a planned switch to Atletico Madrid collapsed when the Spanish club were hit by a Fifa transfer ban.

Giroud meanwhile, while not a world class talent, has scored some stunning goals since his arrival at the Emirates from Montpellier for £10m in 2012.

But it is widely believed he is for sale, despite Wenger's praises this week - and could cost any side after him a pricey £20m.
