BURNLEY have warned Manchester United they are willing to play hardball over Michael Keane this summer.

And the Red Devils hope the fact they would be entitled to 25% of any future sale will swing it in their favour.

Keane has only one year left on his contract at Turf Moor yet the Clarets say they are happy to let him run it down and walk away for nothing.

Chairman Mike Garlick said: "Let's roll it forward a year, what's the price for staying up again? £120-£130million?

"So if we miss out on one or two fees and get that I know what I'd take.

"The important thing is for fans to know we don't actaully have to sell any player.

"Going forward it's got to be on our terms and terms that are right for us. Do we need to sell anyone - no if we want to keep players we'll keep them."

Keane is also wanted by Everton but has made it clear his first choice would be a return to United, where he began his career in the academy.

He only left Old Trafford for first team football, but has impressed in both the Championship and Premier League, earning full England honours in the process.
