Simeone has been on the radar of a host of top European clubs for the last two years and after Sunday's win against Atletic Bilbao and confirmed desire to stay on in Madrid
ATLETICO MADRID boss Diego Simeone is set to snub a number of high-profile clubs around Europe and stay on at the Vicente Calderon.
In six seasons at the helm, Simeone has taken Atletico to the La Liga title and two Champions League finals, amid continued speculation he would leave Spain for England or Italy.
The Argentine coach has been linked Inter Milan, where he spent two seasons in the nineties, and Arsenal where the north London club have been long-term admirers.

The 47-year-old told Marca:"Journalists continually ask me if I am going to stay. Yes, I am going to stay.
"Do you know why I'm going to stay? Because this club has a future and that future is all of us."
Sunday's 3-1 win over Atletic Bilbao cemented thirds place in La Liga, was the last at the Vicente Calderon.
The Madrid side will move into their new Wanda Metropolitano stadium for the start of the 2017-18 season.
After the match, Simeone addressed the crowd while players from both past and present made their way onto the pitch and posed with every trophy the club has ever won.
Simeone added:"I am grateful to all those who have passed through this place.
"The players, the coaches and the directors. All those who have built this club.
"For us the feelings run really deep. Other clubs might have more money, more trophies, but they will never be able to match the feelings that we all have for Atletico."

Meanwhile, city rivals Real Madrid won their first La Liga title in five years, with a 2-0 win at Malaga.
