The Madrid side will move into their new Wanda Metropolitano stadium for the start of the 2017-18 season.

After the match, Simeone addressed the crowd while players from both past and present made their way onto the pitch and posed with every trophy the club has ever won.

Simeone added:"I am grateful to all those who have passed through this place.

"The players, the coaches and the directors. All those who have built this club.

"For us the feelings run really deep. Other clubs might have more money, more trophies, but they will never be able to match the feelings that we all have for Atletico."

Meanwhile, city rivals Real Madrid won their first La Liga title in five years, with a 2-0 win at Malaga.

Goals from Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema were enough for Zinedine Zidane's side.

Barca scraped past minnows Eibar 4-2 at the Nou Camp after trailing by two goals in Luis Enrique's final game in charge of the Catalans.
