Ashley Cole puts fan in place after being mocked over £90,000 a week Chelsea deal
Eleven years on the former Arsenal and England full-back is being trolled on Twitter for turning down £55,000 a week
ASHLEY COLE has put a fan firmly in his place after being mocked over his infamous Arsenal contract dispute.
The left-back, currently with LA Galaxy, memorably moved to Stamford Bridge in 2006 after turning his nose up at a new deal from the Gunners.
Cole said he was left "trembling with anger" after being offered a final contract offer of £55,000 a week before accepting Chelsea's much better £90,000 weekly deal.
Arsenal fans have never forgiven 'Cashley' Cole, who also played for Roma, and he has since fuelled the storm by revealing that he still laughs at the recent struggles of the Gunners.

And Cole vehemently defends his choice to move to Chelsea to this day, doing so again this week in sweeping firmly aside a Twitter troll.
Criticised the 36-year-old for turning down that £55,000 a week, Cole replied: "I'm not average...now go sleep son."
Cole, capped 107 times by England, also expressed severe frustration with the lack of originality he'd been getting from trolls.
Like him or loathe him, there's no keeping Cole out of the limelight.
Ironically, he's now operating in the MLS, the league which is often viewed as a lucrative final step down.
But it's also a handy base for professionals looking for one last payday before they hang up their boots.
