And a whole host of clubs are sure to put forward offers as Terry weighs up his options.

There are interested parties abroad, with MLS and Chinese Super League teams preparing big-money deals.

But Terry is open to remaining in the Premier League and has been strongly linked with Bournemouth.

The Cherries made an enquiry for the veteran in January, but it now seems that Eddie Howe faces stiff competition from Swansea.

Ex-Chelsea coach Clement said: “I would like to say, having worked with him, what a fantastic player he is and what a career he has had.

“He is a great talent and one of a dying breed of leaders. He has represented that club so well. Players are too quick to move on from club to club now but congratulations to him.

“If we stay up why wouldn’t we be interested? I know him well and would be more than happy to speak to him.”
