Pep Guardiola is likely to stick with the same side that lost to Everton despite criticism of defender John Stones and goalkeeper Claudio Bravo.

The 22-year-old Stones has come under pressure following another mistake against Everton, but Guardiola will continue with the England centre-back.

One change that could be made is Aleksander Kolarov for Gael Clichy. Guardiola has rotated the pair in recent weeks.

With Jan Vertonghen picking up an ankle injury in the 4-0 win over West Brom Saturday, Mauricio Pochettino could revert back to the 4-2-3-1 formation and play Eric Dier and Toby Alderweireld as a centre-back pairing. This could see Heung-Min Son come back in to side on the left of an attacking trio behind Harry Kane.

What they say

Pep Guardiola admitted that Manchester City's title hopes were over after their 4-0 thrashing by Everton: “Yeah. It is a ten-point lead — and that is a lot — but second place is three points difference, so we have to see.

“I spoke with the players for the last three weeks and told them to forget about the Premier League table.

“We just focus on the next game and try to do our best.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld insist the team can cope without Jan Vertonghen: “First of all we hope Jan is not injured too long. But if he is injured there are a lot of people who can play in his place and bring the level he brings. People will have to step up."
