JURGEN KLOPP insists under-fire Liverpool stopper Loris Karius is comparable to Manchester United star David De Gea.
The German No1's injury-time blunder helped Bournemouth mount an incredible comeback to down the Reds 4-3.
But Reds chief Klopp hit back at criticism of Karius and claimed he was the right man help the 23-year-old develop.
He said: "I only heard about harsh criticism of Karius.
"I analysed it and eight players could have defended the goal before Loris was involved.
"Even the best goalkeepers in the world make mistakes.
"De Gea made one similar recently. There is no perfect recipe for development.
"We live in a public world, we have to deal with pressure and all that stuff.
"There is no perfect recipe for development but close your ears, I would say. I am quite good at this, it helps me a lot and hopefully he can adapt to my skills."
Speaking ahead of Liverpool’s clash with West Ham, Klopp warned Slaven Bilic's struggling Hammers to expect a reaction from the shock defeat.
He added: "Maybe we will be angry against West Ham.
"When you are at the highest level, small details can make the difference. Aggression is being ready to hurt yourself, not the other player.'
Klopp confirmed that crocked striker Daniel Sturridge will miss the games against West Ham and Middlesbrough but has refused to rule him out of the Merseyside derby with Everton on December 19.
