FERNANDO LLORENTE returned to haunt his former side as he put Tottenham ahead with a controversial header.
Replays confirmed that the former Swans striker was offside as he put Carlos Carvalhal's side behind at the Liberty Stadium.
The Swans, who are slumped at the bottom of the Premier League table, were left chasing the game after just 12 minutes.
Christian Eriksen found the Spanish striker from a free kick, who managed to wriggle his way past the static Federico Fernandez.
He leaped above the group and guided his headed effort past Lukasz Fabianski at the near post.
And Swansea fans turned to Twitter to vent their frustration after the replay's revealed that the goal should have not counted.
Replays revealed that the striker was clearly in an offside position when the ball was delivered into the box from the set piece.
The linesman was standing in the prime position to spot the offence, but it went unnoticed and Spurs were awarded the goal.
But a comeback is not off the cards for the Swans, who heroically executed a late comeback against Watford to secure a rare win on Saturday.
It's a different story for Tottenham, who are looking to mount an assault of the Prem top four with a win at Liberty Stadium.
