Burnley fans celebrate Sean Dyche’s ‘proudest man in Proudsville’ comment by putting up hilarious sign

SEAN DYCHE was "the proudest man in Proudsville" when Burnley climbed to fourth in the Premier League after beating Stoke City.

And Clarets supporters have now celebrated his comment by putting up a hilarious sign in the local area.

The sign proudly reads 'Proudsville' in bold capital letters, with a small Burnley badge placed just above.

Chris Boden, sports editor at the Burnley Express, tweeted: "Drove in to the Turf past Towneley, whoever has put the Proudsville sign up deserves a medal."

After his side beat the Potters 1-0, Dyche said: "The fans and the town have got to enjoy these times, why wouldn't you?

"The league doesn't lie, it's unpredictable, but we've earned the right to be where we are.

"I'm proud of it, the proudest man in Proudsville. I'm proud of all of it.

"There's enough people saying good things, but I try to keep a sense of reality, because this division will eat you alive.

Burnley's spell in the Premier League top four was short lived, with Sean Dyche's side falling to seventh after drawing against Manchester United.

And Reds boss Jose Mourinho claimed that the Clarets were lucky to leave with a point at Old Trafford.
