CRYSTAL PALACE fans have found a humorous way to cope with the sad reality of their goal drought.

Eagles only managed to score one goal throughout September, so the club's fanpage decided to make the most of it with a hilarious poll.

Fanpage Five Year Plan have come up with an innovative way to mock the club's Goal of the Month competition.

They decided to put together a collaboration of the club's only goal from September following a string of dismal defeats.

Roy Hodgson's side are still yet to register a league goal, while conceding 17 in the process.

The Eagles are the first club in English football League history to have no wins and no goals from the first seven matches.

However, Bakary Sako nodded home the club's only goal of the month to snatch a win against David Wagner's Huddersfield side in the League Cup.

The strike secured the first win of Roy Hodgson's era, after succeeding Frank de Boer at his boyhood club in September.

The goal was hoped to reignite Palace's shambolic start to the season, but they went on to be thrashed 5-0 by Manchester City and 4-0 by Manchester United.

As a result, the fans were left very little choice when it came to selecting their ironic Goal of the Month award.

Hodgson's reign at Selhurst Park has got off to a shaky start, but the former England chief said it is to be expected.

Following the double defeat in Manchester, he said: "It has been a chastening experience to bring a team to try and compete against these sides and give them a game in the first hand."
