Liverpool transfer news: Mamadou Sakho on the verge of ending Merseyside misery after club accept £26m bid from Crystal Palace
France international is expected to sign a five-year deal at Selhurst Park and bolster their Premier League survival bid
CRYSTAL PALACE have finally had a bid accepted by Liverpool for outcast Mamadou Sakho.
The central defender will now have a medical at the London club ahead of a £26million move.
He is expected to pen a lucrative five-year deal at Selhurst Park.
Palace boss Frank de Boer has been chasing the centre-back all summer following his successful loan stint in the second half of last season.
Sakho, 27, played a huge part as the Eagles managed to avoid relegation and was even crowned the club's Player of the Season.
And under pressure boss De Boer was desperate to bring the fan favourite back to the club after a disastrous start to the Premier League season.
Palace have lost their opening three matches, conceding six goals and have yet to hit the back of the net.
But the Dutch boss will see the addition of Sakho as a huge boost in their bid for Premier League survival.

Sakho had been left to rot in Liverpool’s reserves after having a falling out with Jurgen Klopp on pre-season last year.
Palace are also trying to finalise a move for Everton's Oumar Niasse.
The striker, valued at £9m, will be seen as back-up to Christian Benteke.
