West Ham to battle with RB Leipzig for £8.75m highly-rated teenage star Yann Karamoh
18-year-old burst onto the Ligue 1 scene last season scoring five and assisting four
WEST HAM are in a transfer tussle with RB Leipzig in a race to sign teenager Yann Karamoh.
The 18-year-old Caen attacker is highly-rated in France having burst onto the Ligue 1 scene last season.
And the Hammers are ready to part with £8.75million in order to land the talent this summer.
Despite his age, he made 25 starts last season and played a part in nine goals as he hit the back of the net five times and assisted four as Caen narrowly avoided relegation.
France are notorious for producing top young stars and Hammers boss Slaven Bilic wants to take full advantage by snatching his signature early.
Monaco were thought to be watching him closely but have turned their attentions elsewhere following the signing of Barcelona's Jordi Mboula.

Bilic is impressed with Karamoh's versatility in attack.
He spent the majority of last season on the right wing but also featured through the middle, on the left and as the main striker.
Meanwhile the Hammers are set to offer star player Manuel Lanzini a new £50,000-a-week contract to fend off interest from Premier League rivals.
