Tony Pulis admitted in March that he tried to sign Terry, 36, in the last window and would push for a deal this summer.

But The Mirror claim Bournemouth are in pole position to land the 78-cap England star after interest from China and the MLS cooled.

Swansea, however, will try to tempt Terry to Wales if they can stay in the Premier League, according to the Daily Star.

Clement - who worked with the Blues stalwart at Stamford Bridge - is desperate to sign a leader at the back to replace Everton's Ashley Williams.
