Boss Jurgen Klopp calls for Liverpool consistency after Bournemouth win

Jurgen Klopp challenged his Liverpool side to become more consistent after their 4-0 win at Bournemouth on Sunday.

Goals from Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino put Liverpool back into the top four.

The win came after frustrating home draws with Everton and West Bromwich Albion in their last two matches.

And Klopp told Sky Sports: "We need to be consistently good because we are Liverpool. That's what we have to learn. We are consistent.

"We had a few games like West Brom -- not performances but results-wise -- and it's our job to change that.

"I'm really pleased about pretty much everything [at Bournemouth] because the start was serious, like it should be in a game like this.

"We knew how Bournemouth can play football if you let them. We were really disciplined. The tactical discipline was really good. We won a few balls.

"You cannot score all the time, and that's what we were speaking about before the game. I said to the boys: 'Why can we be disappointed when the first ball is not in [the goal]? Why does it look like this is going to be a hard day?' It's normal. They are all hard.

"I really love how we did this today. We didn't give a lot away. I think it's really well deserved and I enjoyed the performance."

Salah's goal a minute before half-time made him the first Liverpool player to score 20 goals in a season since Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge in 2013-14.

Sadio Mane, meanwhile, did not even come off the bench at the Vitality Stadium, and Klopp said: "I'm not here to celebrate my squad. I like them all. That's why they are at Liverpool.

"After West Brom, they are still the exact same players, but they didn't hit the target [in that game]. I don't change my mind in three minutes. They are good.

"I'm completely happy having these boys around, but they need to stay healthy and fit and get rhythm. I like them all, but I can still only line up 11."
