Northampton Saints will apply increased security measures at Friday's European Champions Cup qualification play-off with Stade Francais.

It comes following Monday's terror attack in Manchester, which left 22 people dead and another 59 injured, and the country's terror threat consequently being raised to the highest possible level.

Before the game at Franklin Gardens, being shown live on Sky Sports 2 from 7.30pm, every bag will be checked and each person wearing a jacket must unzip them.

Saints have been consulting with Northamptonshire Police throughout the week and there will be additional patrols by security teams outside the stadium during the match.

Stewards will also manage the entrances into car parks around the stadium throughout the game, with an enhanced presence at all exit points.

The additional procedures being carried out are on top of the usual security checks carried out at the venue.

Queues are expected to be longer so fans are asked to allow longer to get through turnstiles and are requested to be in their seats and on terraces by 7.40pm, five minutes before the 7.45pm kick-off.
